Whilst we fully appreciate that 99% of all dog owners care for and train their dogs, we are bound by regulations and the conditions of our insurance and must ensure that owners of banned breeds / types adhere to the following guidance.
- The dog is registered with the Index of Exempted Dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.
- A copy of the Public Liability Insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.
- The dog is Neutered – in line with Government Rules.
- The dog is Microchipped.
If you own a dog currently on the banned breed list you must follow the requirements as set out below when using Rural Tails Dog Exercise Park – these are additional Terms and Conditions for using the field with a banned breed. By booking an appointment with us, you’re agreeing to these terms:
- You must have a Certificate of Exemption.
- You must have Public Liability Insurance.
- The gate to the car park MUST be locked from the inside, using the padlock provided.
- Your dog must be on a lead and muzzled until you are safely within the field.
- Once the gate is locked, you may remove the lead and muzzle.
- Dogs MUST be placed back on the lead and muzzled before leaving the field.
- Dogs on the banned breed list MUST be handled/walked on a 1-2-1 basis by someone 18 years old or over. (If the household has more than 1 dog (including more than 1 banned breed dog), they can come to the field together. There is no requirement for an extra handler).
